I was unsure of posting this Open Update because it was an absolute nightmare for me. When Dave Castro announced the 18.3 workout on Thursday night, my initial thought was Oh… My… Gosh, so many double unders . This is what the workout looked like:
2 rounds for time of:
20 overhead squats
12 ring muscle-ups
20 dumbbell snatches
12 bar muscle-ups
Time cap: 14 minutes
Despite numbers upon numbers of double unders, I quite looked froward to doing this workout because perhaps I would be able to get my first (videoed) ring muscle up. But the odd’s were not in my favour and I didn’t even manage a single muscle up. I’m not going to moan or even talk about it because ring muscle ups have been a major weakness of mine since I started Crossfit and I should have incorporated them into my weekly training schedule and I didn’t, so I only have myself to blame. All in all I liked this workout despite only managing 100 double unders, 20 overhead squats and another 100 double unders.
I however look forward to 18.4 and have a feeling it’s going to be a running clock workout which will include previous years Open workouts. What do you guys think it’s going to be?
